*An interior that speaks in a low register, but with intent.
Avero Mia, an Italian restaurant, reads as a meditation on time, flavour and the tangible quality of space. Rather than quoting nature or culture outright, the design alludes to both. There’s a quiet familiarity to it — like catching the scent of herbs at an early market in Apulia.

The ground floor is organised around elongated, sinuous lines. The substantial timber bar and kitchen counters, finely worked in texture, form the visual spine. Underfoot, terrazzo gives a nod to tradition but feels refresh, almost graphic in its precision. Lighting is layered and diffused — from crystal pendants to reflected glows along the walls. The space does not demand attention; instead, it recedes just enough to allow the quieter elements to come through: the fine stripes of upholstery, the handmade ceramics, the carved silhouettes of the luminaires.
Furniture is restrained yet tactile — warm leather, softly grained wood, curved backs. Everything feels paced and deliberate, as though calibrated to breath. There is no bravado, no ornamental excess.
The upper floor accommodates additional rooms. One is designed for gatherings: a dining hall with pale, rhythmic ceiling geometry, muted gold upholstery, and discreet points of light — like the shadow of a curtain at noon. It is open, yet holds a certain intimacy; fluid, yet composed. In contrast, the VIP room takes on a more enclosed temperament — cigar-lounge in its function and atmosphere. Built-in bookcases and humidors, weighty bindings, artworks positioned not for exhibition but for company. Here, the tone is darker, more saturated, more grounded. The room doesn’t narrate; it leaves its trace afterwards.
The colour palette across the scheme is nuanced and stratified: earth tones, copper, chalky cream and dusty green. Natural materials, living plants, and textures of understated luxury ensure that nothing feels accidental.
This is an interior that doesn’t seek applause. It settles naturally into a sense of the right time and the right place — and remains. Because “In every moment there is its own eternity” («In ogni istante c’è un’eternità»).
